CLASS NOTES:
AD100 Applied Color Theory

OVERVIEW:

The goal here is to explore and understand how color works... how our eyes perceive it, why some colors work well together and others do not, how to sequence colors usefully to achieve the effect we want in our work, and to deal solely with the reality of color as it exists in the world we live in and not the emotional / religious / political / etc perceptions of color and how it has been applied and controlled. Though understanding the cultural uses of color certainly has value, it is beyond the scope of this class and delves into more than the pure science of color theory.
