CLASS NOTES:
GD150 Game Interface Design & Theory

EXERCISE 1:
Best Designed Games

OVERVIEW:

The exercise was just to list out what games we thought were the best designed and why.
This was in exploration of just what is Game Design. Our choices appear below.
With olyn three students in this class this quarter our lists will probably remain short.

Shining Force series (intuitive)
Super Mario World (layout)
Halo (good controls and customization)
Savage (well balanced)
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (easy to follow, directing player through, not sickening)
Mario Series (easy to follow, secrets)
Final Fantasy Series (random encounters)
Civilization (definite beginning-middle-end, features, multiple endings)
Asteroids (skill based)
Settlers of Katan (interchangeable tiles, accomplished goal)
